Peter is the Managing Partner of Windy River Group, a private investment company with interests in commercial banking, professional soccer, industrial technology, and venture capital. Previously, he served as Chairman of Cordia Bancorp, which he co-founded to acquire and consolidate community banks across the mid-Atlantic region. Before that, Peter spent nearly 25 years at Goldman Sachs as a Managing Director in Private Wealth Management, where he built the firm’s largest private wealth business worldwide.
Peter is a graduate of the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College (and former Board Member), a US Marine Infantry Officer, and graduate and men’s soccer player (NCAA Tournament 1974) at the US Naval Academy. He is also a global board member of Grassroots Soccer.

His leadership centers on aligning performance architecture, capital strategy, and brand power into durable competitive advantage. Nicolas operates at the intersection of sport, strategy, and commercial innovation, with a strong track record of building growth platforms, structuring strategic partnerships, and translating complex ecosystems into scalable business models.
Most recently served as Managing Director for the German Football Association (DFB), leading transatlantic partnerships and international expansion across performance, innovation, and commercial strategy. Earlier in his career, Nicolas held senior leadership roles at SAP and Oracle. He is also the founder of Jungkind Sports Consulting and a guest lecturer at Stanford University.

He has held senior roles with the Portland Timbers and Thorns, the New York Rangers, the Memphis Grizzlies, Major League Baseball, Nike, and the NBA, where he helped launch global events and properties including NBA Opening Games in Japan, All-Star Fan Fest, international competitions, and the WNBA. He is a two-time MLS Executive of the Year and served for a decade on the NWSL Board of Governors. He now advises and invests in sports ventures and serves on FanUp.ai’s board.
