Football.Enterprises Names Veteran College Soccer Coach Shaun Docking as National Academy Director

Twenty-six conference championships between the Big South and Sun Belt, earned Sixteen NCAA Tournament appearances Eight-time conference Coach of the Year with 332 career wins and produced Fifty players who went on to play professionally to lead academy player-development strategy.

CHARLESTON, SC – Football.Enterprises Inc., a global football company building an integrated model across club ownership, sports technology and early-stage player development, today announced the appointment of Shaun Docking as National Academy Director.

In his new role, Docking will work across Football.Enterprises’ club, academy and grassroots ecosystems in coordination with the company’s football leadership. His responsibilities will include supporting the implementation of academy programming and coaching standards, assisting with player identification and development initiatives, strengthening pathways between grassroots, academy, college and professional football, and helping players and families navigate college-placement opportunities.

Born and raised in the Southampton, England area, Docking was Head men’s Soccer Coach at Coastal Carolina University for 27 years, from 1998-2025, where he compiled a 312-167-56 record, and a 332 – 186-58 mark across a 29-year head coaching career, that also included Charleston Southern University, from 1996-1998. His teams captured 26 conference Championships, between the Big South and Sunbelt Conferences, earned 16 NCAA Tournament appearances, including 4 Sweet Sixteen trips, and produced over 50 players who went on to play professionally, including world famous clubs around the world from the German Bundesliga, French Ligue 1, Turkish Super Lig, Belgian SuperLiga, Spanish LaLiga, English Football League, MLS and the top leagues in Sweden, Norway and Iceland. Docking was named Conference Coach of the Year 8 times, including 6 Big South and 2 SunBelt honors and the Big South ‘Coach of the Decade’ for 2010-20.

Beyond the college game, Docking has been a long-standing figure in elite player development. He served as Director of Coaching for the Region III Olympic Development Program and South Carolina’s Director of Coaching and as a head coach within the U.S. Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program’s Region III, where he oversaw age-group coaching hires, player evaluation for national consideration, and program-wide instruction featuring players such as Walker Zimmerman, Jozy Altidore, Graham Zusi, Dax McCarty, Patrick Mullins, Justin Portillo, Ricardo Clark, Nathan Sturgis, Clint Dempsey under his tenure. He holds the USSF “A” License and a United Soccer Coaches (formerly NSCAA) Advanced National diploma.
